My Story

I am a For Hire Saudi-Based Freelance Graphic Designer

I am disabled and through my continuing hard work to redevelop myself, perseverance, and application of learning, I have gone from being completely incapacitated to attaining my BFA in Graphic Design and Media within 7 years. I have fought hard to regain my past, have a present, and think of a future.

I have been a Fine Artist from a young age. Design as an educational path was not thought of until college, when I had to think about a future career. I started out in interior design and architecture and ideas of the built environment, but I didn’t find it satisfactorily art related and felt it was too technical. I feel there is a stronger connection between my fine art sensibilities and graphic design.

Additionally, my graphic design practice is informed by my international experiences as a citizen of two countries due to my parents being of two cultures, American and Saudi Arabian. Moreover, I am well-traveled and have seen some of the Wonders of the World and the masterpieces of European art in person. This has broadened my view of people and how to communicate with them. I am aware of the myriad personalities and perspectives I can encounter in the world.  This helps me think of target audiences differently.

I’m also tri-lingual, English, Arabic, and French, and therefore, I have three ways of conceiving of reality and expressing myself linguistically. This further informs how I express myself in my art and designs. I feel all of these qualities help me view design problems differently and not fall into stereotypes easily.
